Queens Of Drama – “What Donna Wants!” (Reaction and Recap)

PopTV

PopTV

On tonight’s new episode of PopTV’s “Queens Of Drama” a lot happened in the short 30 minute episode; things got quite dramatic.  Here are a few of the things I wanted to discuss from tonight’s episode:

1. #FilthyGoldenGirls:

We start out at a pitch meeting with the new showrunner for the show the ladies are creating.  Each of the ladies pitch their shows to Donna and the showrunner, but Crystal’s idea really stands out to me.  She first talks about her love for the show, “The Golden Girls,” and I can’t agree with her more there!  It is by far my favorite show of all time.  Crystal’s idea for the show is to be a cross between “Sex & The City” and “The Golden Girls.”  The show runner has the best line of the series so far with, “So you want to make a Filthy Golden Girls?”  So funny, and I would love to see it to be honest.

2. Hunter’s Family Issues:

Last week we saw Hunter’s family situation implode when she didn’t change her name for the upcoming show.  Her husband was very upset and ended up saying some pretty terrible things to her.  In tonight’s episode Hunter wants to prove to her husband how much she loves him by fixing food, spreading flower pedals all over their bedroom, and dressing up in sexy lingerie.  He is very pleasantly surprised by all this, but he is over-the-moon when she shows him that she legally had her name changed to his.  So glad to see they are getting along better, but I do hope he apologized for the things he said to her in last week’s episode.  By the way, Hunter is 52 years old and looked darn good in that lingerie!  Rock it girl!

3. Wine Anyone?

The ladies go on a retreat to finish gathering ideas for the show and bond together as a group, but as you can imagine this didn’t go as planned.  Vanessa pretty much acted crazy the entire time on the trip, and she had issues with anything anyone did or said.  First, she exploded because Donna couldn’t make it on the retreat.  Then, she made jabs at Crystal because she visited with a friend in Palm Spring.  Finally, the ladies all sat down to discuss the roles for the show, and Hunter decided to try to convince Vanessa to act in the show instead of just producing.  Donna had told Hunter they needed Vanessa to act or the network may not be as interested in the show.  This led to a pretty heated argument between Vanessa and Hunter which ended with Vanessa smashing her wine glass on the table and walking out.  Talk about craziness!  Vanessa doesn’t seem like she wants to be there so why is she trying to make a show with these ladies she can’t get along with?  I also don’t understand why everyone has to resort to violent behavior when having a heated discussion.  Can we not just discuss our issues?

My Thoughts On Britney Spears and Iggy Azalea’s “Pretty Girls” Music Video!

RCA Records

RCA Records

Britney Spears and Iggy Azalea just released the music video for their summer smash, “Pretty Girls,” and I just wanted to discuss my reaction and thoughts regarding the video.  If you haven’t watched it yet, click here to watch!

1. Happy Britney, Happy Me!

Britney looks so happy in this video, and no, I don’t mean fake happy.  She looks like she had the time of her life shooting this video, and it appears she and Iggy got along really well.

2. Totally!

The scene when Iggy transforms Britney’s 80’s cellphone into a new cell phone is one of my favorites.  Britney doing a valley girl accent is pretty much the best thing you will see all day.

3. The Dancing:

Britney’s dance scenes were great in the video, and there was a lot of energy.  This is great to see, but I wish they hadn’t had so many cut away scenes during the dance sequences.  Sometimes it is powerful just to keep the camera in one place.  The behind the scenes video on Extra showed them filming the car wash dance scene, and it looked great all together instead of spliced apart by editing.  All in all though, Britney looks incredible and dances her “toned” booty off.

4. The Theme and Story:

The theme and story behind this video is spot on and so effective.  People are already freaking out about this music video, and they will be all summer long!  The video is based on the 80’s cult film, “Earth Girls Are Easy,” and both Britney and Iggy play the parts perfect.  This is the best music video I’ve seen in a long time with a great, fun story.

5. Money Well Spent:

This video looks incredibly expensive from the special effects to the multiple scenes, but it is well worth it.  Instead of making a boring generic video, they really made something that will be remembered for years to come.  Britney has always been the artist with the incredible videos, and thankfully that doesn’t seem to be changing any time soon.

These two are the perfect pair to make music and music videos together.  They seem to genuinely like each other and have fun together.  So happy to both of them and here’s to “Pretty Girls” going number 1 this summer!

Real Housewives Of New York – “Double Down On Delusion” (Reaction and Recap)

Bravo

Bravo

On tonight’s new episode of Bravo’s, “Real Housewives Of New York,” the ladies travel to Atlantic City to celebrate Ramona’s birthday.  As you can expect, there was a huge amount of drama, but I never expected it to start so soon!  There are a few things about the episode that I want to discuss:

1. Let My People In!”

Some of the ladies arrived to Sonja’s house on time, but I guess the limo was late as well as Sonja.  The ladies try to go in Sonja’s house because it’s pouring rain outside.  Sonja’s interns answer the door and won’t let them in because Sonja doesn’t want anyone in the house.  Forcing your friends back out into the rain?  Really Sonja?  I completely understand not wanting people in my house, but under some circumstances at least let them sit down in the living room.  The only thought I have is that Sonja did not want the cameras filming inside her house; maybe because it didn’t look as perfect as normal?  I’m really not sure.

2. Sonja, Sonja, Sonja:

We have all heard Sonja brag and namedrop for years now on the show, and this season has been no different.  What is different about Sonja this season is she always inserts herself into someone else’s pity party.  Ramona has been going through a terrible public divorce, but Sonja could only talk about herself when they discussed it.  Poor Ramona was looking for support, but all Sonja wanted to talk about was her divorce and issues from years ago.  I do truly feel sorry for Sonja because I believe she is misunderstood in many ways.  Sonja, please remember you have a wonderful life right, and you are beautiful right now.  I don’t want her to live in the past because she has so much to still be happy about.

3. Dorinda’s Best Line:

New housewife Dorinda had the best line of the season so far talking to a very drunk Sonja.  Poor Sonja had no idea what was happening as she kept telling Dorinda how she always partied with John John Kennedy and Madonna.  After hearing her say it 3 times, Dorinda responded with, “John John’s dead so that’s difficult.”  So hilarious, and I’m loving Dorinda more and more each episode.

4. Ramona and Sonja On The Loose:

It was really great to see Ramona let loose in Atlantic City, especially when she and Sonja were alone.  As Ramona said in her interview, “It felt like old times with Sonja.”  This gave me flashbacks to all the amazing “Ramonja” moments we’ve had in the past.  Also, the gambling scenes were hilarious.  On one side of the casino you have Ramona and Sonja winning and winning and screaming and winning and drinking and winning and screaming.  Then, on the other side of the casino, we have all the other ladies losing.  So funny!  Long live “Ramonja!”

This week’s episode was a great one!  What did you think of the episode?  Leave us a comment and let us know!

Queens Of Drama – “Dealing With A Sociopath” (Reaction and Recap)

PopTV

PopTV

On tonight’s new episode of “Queens Of Drama” a lot happened in the short 30 minute episode.  Most of it centered around Crystal, and we learned a lot more about Hunter.  Here are a few of the things I wanted to discuss from tonight’s episode:

1. Donna Is In Charge:  As much as the other women want to be in control of the new prime-time drama they are working on, it is pretty clear that Donna is calling the shots.  Tonight we rejoined the intense meeting at the production office.  Joan Collins walked in and surprised everyone except Donna, who had told her to come.  Crystal apparently had her people talk to Joan’s people about replacing Donna as executive producer of the show.  When confronted by prime minister Donna, Crystal lied straight to her face which made Donna even madder.  Donna then took it on herself to have a one-on-one meeting with Crystal.  Crystal finally fessed up to having her people contact Joan.  Donna then brought up the fact that Crystal was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon following a bar fight.  I had completely forgot about this, but I did remember seeing in on TMZ.  People make mistakes so I don’t think Donna should hold that against her.

2. Crystal Apologizes:  Crystal asked Chrystee and Lindsay to lunch.  They were very curious as to why because both of them have had negative interactions with Crystal in the past few episodes.  Crystal begins to explain to them all that has been going on in her life including her mother having cancer, her arrest, and the breakup of her relationship.  She then apologizes for her behavior because she didn’t mean for it to come off the way it did.  They seem genuinely happy and content with her apology.  It’s a good thing too because they need to be strong together against the wrath of Donna!

3. Hunter Gets Really Real:  We then see Hunter at her home gardening.  Her husband returns home and sees a working folder on the counter with her name printed on as: Hunter Tylo.  He’s immediately upset and confronts her about it.  Apparently they had a deal that she would change her name to his last name before her next acting job started.  She begins to argue the point, and rightly so, that people in the entertainment business are all about names.  You work your career to build a name; it isn’t easy to change that name once you are established.  He then throws in her face that she holds on to that name because it connects her to her kids with her ex-husband, especially the one who passed away.  What a terrible thing to throw at someones face during an argument.  All this over a name is quite selfish, and he needs to realize that.  Hunter is visibly upset as the episode ends.

Next week I believe there is a heated confrontation involving Vanessa as we see her throw a glass of water across the table at a meeting.

Real Housewives Of New York City – “Mind Your Own Business” (Reaction and Recap)

Bravo

Bravo

Tonight’s new episode of, “Real Housewives Of New York City,” mirrors most of the season so far.  This season has been much improved over the past two season, and Bethenny certainly helps to bring some spark back into the show.  There are a few reaction I had and somethings I want to talk about regarding tonight’s episode:

1. Ramona and Sonja:  These two have always been crazy, but now the former BFF’s seem to have a lot more issues than normal.  Ramona and Sonja both have traumatic things happening in their private lives, and it is quite clear they haven’t been as close.  It was a good step to see that Sonja wants to take Ramona, and the other girls, on a fun birthday trip to Atlantic City; this is very thoughtful considering it will be her first birthday without Mario.  The two seemed perfectly fine here, but when we get to Dorinda’s party, they each seem to the think the other is ignoring them.  Clearly, Sonja didn’t speak to Ramona which was bizarre, but this is Sonja we are talking about.  As much as I love her and think she is hilarious, sometimes I don’t get what is going on in her head!  Luckily the two made up resulting in Ramona tearing up before she left.

2. Kristen Finally Has A Scene:  Since the beginning of the season, we haven’t really heard from or seen much of Kristen.  She must not have the strongest personal story-line because all they’ve shown us is her working on her blog and calling Heather on the phone.  I’m actually surprised she wasn’t downgraded to friend-of-housewife considering she no longer wants to display her marital issues onscreen.  With 8 housewives this season, it may have freed up some space for additional story-lines.

3.  Bethenny Visits Sonja Inc:  In tonight’s episode, Sonja invited Bethenny to her private fashion showroom.  Bethenny was surprised, confused, and a bit concerned for Sonja.  I’m so confused by Sonja; what business is she actually doing?  I know she says she has a clothing line, but as far as I know it isn’t available to purchase anywhere.  When Sonja was on “What Watch Happens Live” last week she responded to a fan question by saying people could purchase her designs on her official website.  There were then questions later on in the show from fans saying the website said clothing item were coming soon or sold out.  I realize Sonja showed her clothing line in New York Fashion Week, but does she have any deals?  Without a deal she isn’t going to see any clothes and make money; the girl needs to be making money.  Bethenny tried really hard to get the answers out of her multiple employee, but she left even more confused about Sonja’s “lifestyle brand” when she arrived.

Loving the housewives this season especially the Countess!
